The Conference Organising Committee invite you to attend Stormwater2027, the 2027 Stormwater National Conference. The Conference will be held at Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre, Victoria from Monday, 31 May to Wednesday, 2 June 2027.

The theme for Stormwater2027 is Confluence: Where catchments, communities and solutions meet.

A confluence is the point where separate streams join and become something larger. That is what this conference sets out to be: the first national conference delivered jointly by Stormwater Australia and Stormwater Victoria, and a meeting point for the people, places and ideas that shape how stormwater

is managed across the country.

Every catchment is different, and so is every community that lives in it. The solutions that work are the ones designed with both in mind. With good planning, stormwater management together with considered asset design and maintenance can improve water security, reduce flooding and support waterway health. In turn, this fosters biodiversity and creates cooler, greener and more resilient places to enjoy now and in the future.

Stormwater management across Australia must address complex challenges from a growing population and a subsequent critical need for housing, to the impacts of climate change and a need to protect humans,

wildlife, and waterways from both flooding and extreme heat and drought events. While we all face unique local problems, the state of knowledge across Australia is growing, and with it, our capacity to find solutions.

Stormwater2027 presents an opportunity for stormwater professionals across Australia to learn from each other. Collaborating by sharing knowledge, wins, and lessons learned nationally will allow us to

respond better to the unique stormwater management challenges our states and localities face.
